Myth About Teacups and Tiny Toy Poodles

Myths about Teacups and Tiny Toy Poodles: The AKC breed standard states that any poodle 10 inches or shorter, from shoulder to floor, is a Toy Poodle.  Therefore, there really is no such thing as a "TeaCup Poodle" or "Tiny Toy Poodle". The American Kennel Club (AKC) and the Poodle Club of America states there are only three different breeds of Poodles, the Toy Poodle which is the smallest, the Miniature Poodle, and the Standard Poodle which is the largest.

Toy Poodle are 10" and under.

Minature Poodle between 10" and 15".

Standard Poodle over 15".

Note: Please do not purchase a puppy according to weight. Breeders wishing to misrepresent puppies will generally try to get you to focus upon weight. The only true indicator of size is the height, as so stated by both the American Kennel Club and the Poodle Club of America.
